St Giles Management - May 2020

May 20th 2020

Good evening all,

Once again thank you for your continued patience over the last week or so.

We have reviewed the demand for tee times over the last few days which is not as much as we initially anticipated. Given that there is plenty of available tee slots the course is now open for members to book 18 holes a day.

To do this you will need to book the second 9 holes manually via the online booking system. As St Giles is a 9 hole course its very challenging to work out how long it will take members to complete the front 9 holes. Therefore, we have estimated it will take at least 90 minutes to complete the first 9 holes, so you will be unable to book a tee off time before 90 minutes of your first 9 holes tee off time. With this in mind can you please consider how long it will take you to play 9 holes and book the second 9 holes accordingly (e.g if your first 9 tee off time is 6am and it normally takes you 2 hours then book the second 9 holes for 8am).

Please make sure your pace of play is in line with your tee bookings to avoid waiting on the first/tenth tee. If you arrive at the tenth tee before/after your tee slot, please use common sense and course etiquette to continue play. You must let quicker golfers through and not hold up play.

18 different tees will be available from tomorrow morning at 9am, if you are only playing 9 holes then please use the front 9 holes.

Any suggestions on the above or any other matters is welcomed to help us improve the current situation, suggestions can be emailed to admin@stgilesgolf.co.uk

Many thanks

Management Committee

Dear Members,

St Giles GC has now completed its transition to a new online system that allows us to book tee-times via the web, mobiles, tablets or iPads.

Please download the Club V1 Members App from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Members can also access the Hub by logging to the Members Hub online

https://stgilesgc.hub.clubv1.com/

If you do not already have one, you will need to create a Howdidido.com login using your email address. Once you have logged in, it will ask you to link your account to a Golf Club. Select St. Giles Golf club from the list.

If it does not allow you to link, it probably means that we have no email address or the wrong email address saved in our database. In this case, please email admin@stgilesgolf.co.uk and we will amend your details. Please be aware that this email is not always monitored and it may take some time to respond.

If you have any queries regarding software and how it operates, please contact the support team on 0345 222 9999 option 1 or via email membersapp@clubsystems.com

Thank you

GUIDELINES: COVID-19 Outbreak.

St Giles Golf Club – COVID19 Conditions of Return

All golf clubs in Wales have been given the discretion to re-open from Monday May 18th 2020 but MUST follow strict social distancing and hygiene rules to remain open.

· The club will operate a strict tee booking system and golfers must have a confirmed tee time before arriving at the club – turning up without a tee is NOT acceptable and will result in players being denied access.

· Members are restricted to play on their own or with one other person from their household. Larger groups are prohibited.

· There must be a minimum of 10 minutes between tee times. Golfers are asked to arrive at the course no earlier than 10 minutes before tee time.

· All matches must start from the first tee and will be limited initially to nine-holes to provide sufficient course access for all members. Members will be restricted to two games per week – the restriction will be reviewed if course capacity is available.

· The clubhouse will remain closed apart from access to toilets. Members are allowed to retrieve clubs from the locker room/caddy shed but they must be taken home afterwards to maintain social distancing.

· The putting green, practice nets and practice chipping areas will remain closed. Practising on the course and the use of more than one ball is NOT allowed.

· All bunkers are GUR and relief must be taken – all rakes have been removed.

· Flags will be used but players should not touch them and holing out is not advised.

· Players arriving at the club should try to leave a gap between vehicles when they park. Members should leave as soon as they complete their round.

· The club has a duty to safeguard the health and well-being of its groundsman and no member is allowed to approach him on any issue. Any concerns should be raised with a member of the Management Committee.

We appreciate that the rules outlined above are strict but we are in unprecedented times and they must be strictly followed to maintain golf. Wales Golf have been clear that failure to follow rules by clubs or individual golfers risk the closure.

Anyone contravening the rules will be subject to the club’s disciplinary procedures.

Details of the booking system will be published on St Giles Web Site and Facebook as soon as possible.

Enjoy your golf and Stay Safe!
