Isaac Jones had a half-term to remember when he was crowned the nine-year-old and under Welsh Mini Masters Champion for 2016.

The St Giles Golf Club youngster (pictured) won the national competition after scoring 37 at the Celtic Manor Resort, home of the 2010 Ryder Cup, to take first place and become a “Mini Master” in his own right.

Meanwhile, in club news, Gary Rimmer carded a seven-under 63 to win the J.T. Hughes (Honda) October Medal. Rhys Edkins pushed the winner all the way to the wire finishing just a shot further back on six-under, whilst third went to Anthony Faelli with 66.

Alan Williams continued his incredible season by posting 38 points in the “three clubs plus putter” Turkey Trail event. Williams ran away from the rest of the field to claim the turkey from his nearest challenger, Mikey Murray who took second after beating John Williams in a card playoff after both players scored 32 points.
